SOUND ARTIST RESIDENCY 2027

We are delighted to open a new call for our annual Immersive Audio Network Sound Artist Residency in 2027.

If selected, what will I receive?

- 3 days exclusive use of our mobile Immersive Audio Lab including free access to specialist spatial audio technical support.

The residency will take place in-person in Bristol in an accessible venue over 3 days between 15th and 21st January 2027 on 3 days that suit you the artist best agreed with our Network's technical team in advance. 

- £1500 Artist stipend to fund your time, travel and subsistence on the residency. 

- Public exhibition of your work-in-progress developed during the residency as an artist's talk at our Immersive Audio Network Festival on 29th January 2027 at the Arnolfini in Bristol, UK. 

How do I apply?

To reduce application fatigue of typically crazy long applications (we've all been there!), we've intentionally kept our application process light touch. Enough detail for our judging panel to make informed decisions but not too much detail requested that you are burning the midnight oil to get it in.

Please note we are unable to provide individual feedback on each submitted application.

w/c 2nd November 2026: the recipient will be contacted to confirm their acceptance of the funded residency.

This sound artist residency is supported by MyWorld, The Centre for Cultural and Creative Industries (CCCI) at Bath Spa University and our Immersive Audio Network.

IMMERSIVE AUDIO TRAINING 2027

Back by popular demand, we are running our fourth iteration of our 'Introduction to Immersive Audio' short course on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th January 2027.

Curious to learn more about immersive audio to advance your creative practice and offering to clients?

Gain practical hands-on experience capturing immersive audio binaural field recordings and develop expertise on how to edit and mix immersive ambisonic audio in a friendly learning environment. Our short course tutors are Jan Meinema and award-winning sound artist Nikki Sheth.
